The Shipboard UWR storage system is ready to securely store a variety of weapons from rifles to side arms, gear bags to optics, all utilizing the same cabinet frame. The Shipboard UWR storage system combines thoughtful design and unmatched features to create a system that’s thoroughly dependable and instantly deployable under any circumstance.

5. Protection of Weapons: All components that come into contact with the weapons are either dipped in a black poly vinyl chloride (PVC) coating or are made with an injection molded thermoplastic to protect the weapons from abrasions.

DESIGN AND CAPABILITIES

Cabinets and interior accessories are totally reconfigurable, permitting innumerable weapon storage configurations. For long weapon storage, use a minimum of the following components: one (1) cabinet, includes (1) base, one (1) back panel and the quantity and type of barrel supports and pairs (1) of stock cups equal to the quantity of guns to be stored.

Cabinets

The fully welded, 14-gauge steel cabinets are available in multiple heights to accommodate weapons of varying lengths. All standard cabinets are 42.38″  wide and 16.25″  deep. Built-in, folding, retractable cabinet doors retract completely inside the cabinet when fully open, so there are no swinging doors obstructing the aisle way. The doors, sides and back of the cabinet are solid panel construction to maximize security of stored weapons. The doors have heavy-gauge steel and lock rods, providing maximum security.

Base

Fully-welded base is required on all Shipboards. This base is designed to be welded to the floor of the ship to provide maximum stability for cabinet and weapons stored inside.

Universal Base

The full-width bases are mounted inside the floor of the cabinet and serve as a rest for weapon stocks. The universal base, available for the standard cabinet, with its individual stock support slots can accommodate many weapons by merely changing the location of the stock cups.

Back Panel

The versatile powder-coated full-height back panels mounts in the back of the cabinet. Interlocking keyhole slots accommodate all of the Spacesaver accessories for infinite configurations.

Barrel Supports & Transportability Barrel Supports

Multiple heavy-duty barrel supports have been approved by NAVSEA and are available for the Shipboard UWR. These supports are coated with vinyl and employ straps to hold weapons securly in place and ensure protection of the weapons during storage at sea. Multiple types of barrel supports may be used within the same Shipboard for flexibility in weapon storage allowing maximum capacity.

RETROFIT KITS

Stowage Retrofit Kit for DDG Ships

Spacesaver Retrofit Kits for DDG Ships provide a NAVSEA-approved solution for existing shipboard  weapon lockers by adding a UWR back panel and base. Once installed, these allow the NAVSEA-approved weapon accessories to be used inside existing non-Spacesaver lockers. Ideal for situations where organization capabilities are needed, but a full install of the Shipboard UWR Storage System is impossible. The Shipboard UWR is designed to be used either as a stand-alone unit or multiple racks may be stacked or ganged together on the floor or within Spacesaver mobile storage systems.
